In a situation that would have given even most adults jitters, a 12-year-old boy displayed exemplary courage and presence of mind. The boy was playing a game on a mobile phone at the office of Sai Celebration wedding hall along the Malegaon-Nampur Road in Nasik district of Maharashtra. A leopard simply strolled into the office, but what happened next was unusual.
The boy, whose father is a security guard at the venue, kept his cool and did not panic or do anything rash. He quickly and quietly walked out of the office, shutting the door behind him, thereby making sure the animal didn’t hurt him or anyone else.
The kid’s swift thinking didn’t end there. He informed his dad what had happened, who then alerted a forest officer.
Before this incident, locals had been made aware of the fact that a leopard was amongst them as a search operation by police and forest officers was already underway.
The five-year-old male leopard was later tranquillised and removed from the premises, thereby averting any danger to its life or those of local residents.
